About West Wyoming

West Wyoming is a borough in Luzerne County, part of the Greater Pittston area on the west side of the Wyoming Valley. It grew from mills built along Abrahams Creek around 1800 by Benjamin and Gilbert Carpenter. Known earlier as Carpentersville, Shoemaker's Mills, and New Troy, it incorporated as a borough in 1898.

The borough covers about 3.6 square miles that rise from the valley floor toward the mountain, bordering Wyoming, Exeter, Swoyersville, and Kingston Township. It recorded 2,631 residents in 2020.
