About Laceyville
Laceyville sits on the North Branch of the Susquehanna River in the northwest corner of Wyoming County, near the Bradford County line. It was named for Henry W. Lacey, a prominent figure in the settlement's early business life. The community took the name Laceyville around 1841 and incorporated as a borough on December 9, 1902.
Settlement came early. A store was operating by 1810, and the township's first tannery was built here in 1832, and the first school opened in 1813. The site had earlier been a camping ground for the Tuscarora. The population was 361 at the 2020 census.

Laceyville covers only about a fifth of a square mile and serves as a small trade stop for the surrounding farm country of Braintrim Township. Route 6 runs through town along the river. It sits roughly 13 miles northwest of Tunkhannock. This is a rural, land-driven market with low prices and river frontage.
