About Weatherly
Weatherly was settled in the mid-1820s by Benjamin Romick, who built a saw mill on Black Creek, and the place first carried the creek's name. It was renamed for a Mr. Weatherly, a clockmaker and director of the Beaver Meadow Company, and incorporated as a borough in 1863. The 2020 population was 2,541.
The borough sits in Carbon County, in the Lehigh Gorge region east of Hazleton. It grew as a railroad town.

The Beaver Meadow Railroad, later the Lehigh Valley Railroad, built repair shops in the borough, and a silk mill added to the local economy. Eurana Park, donated around 1913 by steel magnate Charles M. Schwab, is named for his wife Eurana. The borough is served by the Weatherly Area School District.
Housing is a stock of older frame and brick homes at affordable prices. Weatherly offers small-town living near the Lehigh Gorge and its outdoor recreation, within commuting distance of Hazleton.
