About Falls

Falls Township lies along the North Branch of the Susquehanna River in southeastern Wyoming County. It takes its name from the rapids in the river nearby. The population was 1,690 at the 2020 census, making it one of the county's more populated townships.

The township sits at the county's southern edge, the closest part of Wyoming County to the Scranton and Wilkes-Barre job markets. It remains rural, a mix of riverside settlement, farmland, and wooded hills.

Route 92 follows the river through the township. Tunkhannock lies about 10 miles upstream, and the Scranton area is a manageable commute to the southeast. Falls offers rural and riverfront property with easier access to city jobs than most of Wyoming County, which supports steady demand for land and homes.
