About Warrior Run
Warrior Run was first settled in 1791, when Elisha and Anna Blackman of Connecticut cleared land and built a log cabin. The borough was incorporated on January 25, 1895.
Coal was the chief industry here. The Warrior Run Mining Company organized in 1864 and opened a breaker at the foot of the mountain in 1867, and rail lines soon carried the coal out. The industry died off in the 20th century.

Warrior Run sits just southeast of Nanticoke, in the southwest corner of the Wyoming Valley. It had 527 residents in 2020, one of the smaller boroughs in Luzerne County. Its housing is a small stock of coal-era homes at low prices.
