Trucksville is served by the Dallas School District. Like its neighbors it grew from a rural crossroads into a Back Mountain suburb over the 20th century.

Housing is residential and suburban, on lots larger than the borough blocks closer to Wilkes-Barre. The draw is the same as the rest of the Dallas area, strong schools and an easy commute over the mountain into the Wyoming Valley.
