Back Mountain Village in Kingston Township
Source - U.S. Census Bureau, American Community Survey Five-Year Estimates ('24).
Trucksville is a community in Kingston Township, Luzerne County. It is named for William Trucks, who operated a sawmill here in the 19th century.
It lies directly south of Shavertown along PA Route 309, in the suburban core of the Back Mountain northwest of Wilkes-Barre. The 2020 population was 2,214.
Trucksville is served by the Dallas School District. Like its neighbors it grew from a rural crossroads into a Back Mountain suburb over the 20th century.
Housing is residential and suburban, on lots larger than the borough blocks closer to Wilkes-Barre. The draw is the same as the rest of the Dallas area, strong schools and an easy commute over the mountain into the Wyoming Valley.
