About Peckville
Peckville is a village within Blakely borough and serves as its main commercial center. It is named for Samuel Peck, who moved to the area from Massachusetts in 1831 and built a sash-and-door factory and grist mill on the site.
Peckville grew during the anthracite era along the Lackawanna River. By the early 1900s it had its own public school and, from 1933, the First National Bank of Peckville.
