About Lakeville

Lakeville is a village in Paupack Township, Wayne County, on the western shore of Lake Wallenpaupack. Route 590 is its main road.

Lake Wallenpaupack was created between 1924 and 1926, when PP&L dammed Wallenpaupack Creek for hydroelectric power. The lake runs about 13 miles long with 52 miles of shoreline, the largest in the Poconos.

Lakeville is a lake community. Its mix of lakefront homes, cabins, and vacation rentals sits among year-round residences, roughly seven miles west of Hawley. The area serves the recreation and second-home market that surrounds Wallenpaupack.
