Eynon is a village within Archbald borough, set on the Welsh Hill uplands first settled by Welsh farmers. It is named for Thomas Eynon, a Welsh developer of local coal mines.
Eynon grew as a coal-patch community during the anthracite era. By the 1920s its population had shifted toward Italian and Slavic immigrant families drawn by mining work.
Eynon is part of the Valley View School District and shares Archbald's location about 10 miles northeast of Scranton in Lackawanna County, near the Casey Highway. Baseball figures Joe Paparella and Dick Tracewski were born here. Its coal-era homes offer affordable housing in the Mid Valley.
We work Eynon and the surrounding Lackawanna County market every day. Whether you are buying your first home, selling, or investing, we know this area and we would be glad to help.
